Kevin Doman who is Mission President of the México Tuxtla Gutiérrez Mission, shared pictures on Facebook of a recent baptism. He thinks it may be the oldest person to be baptized, but says they’re checking on it.
The Church’s Newsroom reported in February on part of Elder Andersen’s 10 day tour of Mexico—
During Elder Andersen’s tour, he noted that “Mexico is a very strong country,” adding, “I was able to promise the Mexican Saints that their country has a wonderful future. The Church will be strong and there will be economic opportunities for their children and their grandchildren.”1
Mexico was battered by 3 hurricanes and 2 major earthquakes in 2017, with another major earthquake hitting in February of 2018. They were greatly uplifted by the Apostle’s visit, and he was likewise inspired by them, saying, “the devotion, faith, and unselfishness of the Mexican Saints are examples to the Saints around the world. Mexico will be a center of devotion to the Savior right up to the time of the Savior’s return.” 2
